ABOUT the project
Save-Our-Souls Beast Shelter sets out to celebrate the lost creatures︎︎︎ in medieval arts.
With only myths and legends as reference, medieval artists tried to depict the breeds believed to live in the oceans, skies and foreign lands.
Reviving these creatures from the past, the project aims to embrace imagination and fantasy in a time when knowledge and rationality reign.
HOW TO ADOPT A BEAST
01: State your name, address, contact details and the beast you wish to adopt by calling +1 (310) 299–2790 or emailing beastshelter@save-our-souls.com. Please provide information about the home and lifestyle you have to offer the beast.
02: An evaluation of all applicants will take place in order to find the most suitable parent. The shelter will get back to all applicants with a decision within four weeks. Please take into consideration that the shelter reserves all rights to select an appropriate parent for each beast.
03: If selected as a parent, the applicant has to either accept or decline the offer by email within three days. The beast will be shipped within a week after processed payment.
Note:
Applying for adoption is free. Going through with an adoption comes with a fee of 250$. Each beast is unique and can only be adopted by one person.
Good luck.
Materials & Craft
The ten beasts are constructed from hand-me-down soft toys which are then up-cycled, attacked, and stuffed with love. This is an offering of repair in reaction to human negligence, an effort to deepen environmental and spiritual care. The pieces are made by hand by Dean Hoy (London, UK) within his project Bears Who Care.
